Warranty and returns

Draft. SunVolt is reviewing this page. The final version may change.
We sell products we're prepared to stand behind, and we honour their warranties. This page explains how warranties and returns work. It doesn't affect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012.
Your warranty
Products come with the manufacturer's warranty or SunVolt's own. The length depends on the product: it's shown on the product page where we have it, and it's always on your quote and invoice.
Keep your invoice. It's your proof of purchase for any claim.
What's covered
Faults in materials or manufacture that appear during the warranty period, when the product is used as its specification and instructions describe.
The warranty usually doesn't cover:
- damage from installation, repair or changes by someone other than SunVolt;
- physical damage, flooding, fire or theft;
- using a product beyond its rating, such as overloading an inverter;
- normal wear, such as scratches or a battery's gradual loss of capacity.
How to make a claim
Contact us on WhatsApp or +254 723 773 385, or email quotes@sunvoltenergy.co.ke, with:
- your invoice number or inquiry reference;
- a photo or short video of the fault;
- a description of what happens and when it started.
Many problems are solved over the phone. A dim light, for example, often just needs a clean panel in better sun. If not, we'll arrange an inspection and then repair or replace the product as its warranty provides.
Installations by SunVolt
If our technicians installed your system and you think something about the installation itself is wrong, contact us. We'll come back and check it. Having us install your system also means it's fitted the way the manufacturer requires, which protects the product warranty.
Returns
Check your order when it arrives, and tell us straight away about anything damaged, missing or not what you ordered. We'll put it right.
If you change your mind, unused items in their original packaging can usually be returned. Contact us before sending anything back: the time limit and any conditions are confirmed in your quote, and some items, such as goods cut or made to order, can't be returned.
Refunds
When a return or claim is accepted, we refund using the method you paid with, or another method we agree with you.
